Nandipha Madoyeni, or ‘Ningo’ as her friends call her, is a twenty-three year old lesbian woman living alone in a shack in Fingo Village, Grahamstown. Every day she works as a car guard on High Street. This is not by choice, but because she was never given the opportunity to further her education, and didn’t manage to get past Grade Seven. She earns barely enough money to support herself each month, and battles to make ends meet. Unfortunately, her lack of money is one of the last things Nandipha really has to worry about.

Jiggered is the second glance taken in the smudged mirror of our minds.
We are an arts and literary, socio-political, eggshell-breaking electronic magazine, based in South Africa, that showcases the works of artists who dare to voice their opinions.
